De wetenschappelijke argumenten die een rol hebben gespeeld bij het formuleren van aanbevelingen zijn het resultaat van
systematic reviews. Een deel van deze reviews maakt de WIP zelf. Deze vindt u hieronder in 'systematic reviews made by WIP'.
Door op de titel te klikken krijgt u toegang tot de reviewgegevens (PDF). Sommige van deze systematic reviews zijn gepubliceerd in tijdschriften. Bij de gepubliceerde reviews wordt u rechtstreeks gelinkt naar PubMed door op de tijdschriftenreferenties te klikken. Of u toegang hebt tot de volledige tekst van het betreffende artikel hangt af van hetgeen hierover geregeld is in de bibliotheek van de instelling waar u werkzaam bent.
Daarnaast vindt u hieronder een lijst met 'systematic reviews awaiting assessment'. Deze reviews zijn nog niet opgenomen in de huidige richtlijnen. Iedere 6 maanden wordt met behulp van zoekfilters de literatuur wereldwijd doorzocht op recente voor de WIP-richtlijnen relevante systematic reviews. Op het moment dat een richtlijn wordt herzien worden de reviews over het desbetreffende onderwerp met behulp van een checklist beoordeeld op validiteit en toepasbaarheid.
In beide rubrieken zijn de systematic reviews gerangschikt naar de uitkomstmaten, zoals catheter-related infection, catheter-associated urinary tract infection, ventilator-associated pneumonia, surgical-site infection and nosocomial diarrhoea.
